We carry this as our standard recommendation for chess players new and veterans so they have something portable and everything is regulation on piece sizes and board requirements. Great to take with you anywhere.
The pieces are a heavy plastic and nicely weighted for play, but you can chip them if you drop them from a high distance or throw them in the bag. We recommend putting the playmat in first, hold the case and tube at an angle and then sliding the pieces into the center with occassional lift and shake so the pieces settle in next to each other and all will fit easily into the case.
